About Dr. Vanessa Bork

Registered psychologist (CHCPBC #04252) offering depth-oriented psychological work grounded in existential practice.

I am a registered psychologist whose work is grounded in existential practice and informed by contemporary psychological research, professional standards, and evidence-based practice.

My approach emphasizes careful attention to lived experience, meaning, responsibility, and the relational contexts that shape psychological life. Across my work, I am oriented toward depth, ethical reflection, and thoughtful engagement with complexity rather than quick solutions or prescriptive models.

As a registered psychologist, my work is informed by doctoral-level training in psychotherapy, personality development, diagnosis, ethics, research, and complex mental health treatment. While many clinicians offer therapy, the depth of clinical training and psychological formulation behind that work can vary significantly. My approach is especially oriented toward thoughtful, insight-focused work with individuals seeking deeper understanding, meaningful change, and engagement with the complexities of human experience.

Approach and perspective

I was drawn to psychology through a longstanding interest in how people make sense of their lives and their sense of self — particularly during periods of change, uncertainty, and transition. Existential practice offers a framework for understanding these moments not as problems to be fixed, but as invitations to deeper reflection, responsibility, and meaning-making.

This orientation continues to shape my work with individuals, clinicians, and organizations, where complexity is approached with curiosity, care, and respect for human dignity.

Teaching, consultation, and mentorship

In addition to individual therapy, I am engaged in consultation, mentorship, and teaching with psychologists, therapists, and organizations. I value professional spaces that support reflection, ethical decision-making, and sustained engagement with the emotional and relational demands of work.

My work with professionals and groups is educational and consultative rather than therapeutic, and reflects the same depth-oriented, relational stance that informs my clinical practice.

Professional background

I hold a doctoral degree in counselling psychology and am registered as a psychologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (#04252). I maintain ongoing professional development and am committed to ethical practice, clinical integrity, and reflective engagement across all areas of my work.
